Electronic Weight Indicators are the heart of your weighing system. A good weight indicator can improve the performance of a marginal load cell. Most economical indicators output 5V excitation which will cause a standard load cell to return a signal to the indicator of approximately 0V to 15mV full scale. A premium indicator will output 10V excitation which will cause the load cell to return a signal of 0v to 30mV. Because of the greater voltage span, less amplification of the signal is needed causing greater stability and higher potential resolution from the load cell. Economical indicators have little or no expansion capability and often very minimal filtering. Premium weight indicators can have option cards installed to add additional scale inputs, communication, memory and switching and sensing capability. Premium scales are made of materials that can hold up to the environment. They are well sealed, made of a high quality stainless or non metallic material.
